Project overview

This custom home was developed for a family in El Salvador who wanted the speed of modular construction without compromising on a traditional pitched-roof silhouette.

Custom architecture

The design combines four container modules with a lightweight steel roof structure, creating a two-storey home with a double-height living room. The spire roof provides shade and sheds heavy seasonal rain.

The interior includes three bedrooms, a family bathroom, an open kitchen and a covered terrace with views across the valley.

Components assembly

Rather than shipping whole modules, the house was supplied as labelled wall, floor and roof components that fit into two containers. This reduced shipping cost and allowed the local crew to assemble the structure with basic lifting equipment.
